Sustainable Makers was participated in the 2021 edition of the Web Summit! After a year with only online edition, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the biggest technology conference in the world returned to the face-to-face model between November 1st and 4th at Altice Arena, in Lisbon.

The Marketplace Sustainable Makers is one of the Startups selected to be part of the Alpha Startup Program. This program is developed by Web Summit with the aim of supporting dissemination of companies that are at an early stage of their projects.

Over several months our team went through a careful selection process to be present in this year's edition.

The three days of Web Summit served to generate contacts and synergies with companies that work for the preservation of the planet, namely based on environmental and social sustainability. Furthermore, established sharing ideas with e-commerce companies and  active in the marketing sector - generating beneficial partnerships for the future!

The multiplicity of topics at the technology summit allowed our team to learn some key ideas related to sustainability, e-commerce, fashion, cosmetics, marketing and technology from the best professionals and speakers in these areas.

Therefore, we highlight the following lectures: “Influencer Marketing in 2022”, with Anna Anderson (Condé Nast); “Responsible Marketing or Misleading Greenwashing?”, with George Slefo (The Trade Desk); “Marketing in 2022” with Jane Wakely (CMO of Mars, Incorporated), Jessica Spence (President of Brands at Beam Suntory), among others; “Resale in 2022: Did the second hand win first place?”, with Anthony Marino (thredUP).

On the second day of Web Summit, our CEO Paulo Silva presented the project on the Showcase Startup stage. We were among the companies selected to present a business idea to a wide audience.

On the final day of the world's largest technology conference, Pavilion 2 hosted our stand, our meeting point for potential sellers, investors and buyers.

The Web Summit returns to Lisbon next year and Sustainable Makers intends to return and present all the news it wants to materialize. It will be a year of work with which we hope to have the best partners, brands and buyers.
